At the beginning of August I got to explore the concept of an ourdoor wedding and the hardcore aesthetic that it brought along. Hence the term "Pinterest boner" where I feel an emotional and spiritual arousal to the sheer beauty of a wedding.
The property was full of beautiful aged houses. The last time I visited the site was on a school trip in grade school and I never noticed its proximity to civilization until now.
By the way, this was one of the hottest days of the summer in Toronto and the ceremony was outdoors directly against the setting sun. I was the only smartass to bring my hat and the only reason I brought it was because I wanted to make a joke about pioneers burning the witch (me). It worked out because I think I was the only one on our side of the ceremony to even witness it.
And these photos might look familiar because this is where I took the photo I use for my current blog header!
One of the many hors d'oeuvres served before dinner!
I went for a walk around the area and found a nice little garden behind an old house. The wedding was in the evening. The dusk lighting inspired me to try to take some self timer shots and they turned out pretty well! All I did was set my camera on a fence and hoped for the best.
I thought the light filtering through the trees was too dreamy to pass up. There's a Japanese term "komoreibi" which is the word for the sunlight that filters through the trees and there's nothing quite like it.

Eventually, I wandered back to the dining area...
My nail colour is Maximillion Strasse-her by Essie. It has an awesome neutral balance between grey, blue, and mint.
Also a funny story about that glass of wine; I forgot my ID at home, and the bartender wanted to card me, but once you flop your hair around and laugh enough, alcohol finds its way to you. Anyway, that wine tasted like a disappointing childhood and no matter how sweet the bartender was, I did not return.
Here's the "indoor" section of the venue.
And onto the food pictures! Feel free to refer to the menu photo for each course. For the entre, I got the grilled strip loin and I cleared every plate.
That's all for my pioneer village wedding adventure. Sparked my inner Pinterest user because weddings are just beautiful like nothing else. Thanks for reading!
