So hard to miss; only a block from Ryerson university and Dundas Square, Santouka Ramen is an awesome place for a cold Toronto day.
We went here recommendation from a coworker of my mom's. She works with a lot of Japanese people and apparently this is the place to get authentic Japanese ramen in Toronto. Fun fact: a short Google search later, Santouka is actually a Japanese chain so this is legit. There are only two locations in Canada, but there are Santoukas all over the US, Hong Kong, and of course, Japan. I like this place since the portions are just right so I don't feel nauseatingly full after the bowl, plus the broth is so flavorful and smooth.
An order of gyoza comes with five pieces, but I was too hungry to wait as you can see...
I had the Shoyu ramen which was awesoooome. It might have had a little to do with all the walking we did that day, but this was wonderful nonetheless!
The shop itself is quite small and it's very common for there to be a line. We arrived just before 6 pm so we only had a short wait (about fifteen minutes).
Thank you to everyone who has been reading so far; whether it's regularly or spontaneously. You're all appreciated from the heart of my bottom. See you in tomorrow's post.
