Ottawa Chronicles: The Aesthetic War Museum

To kick off the Ottawa Chronicles series, I present to you, our first stop that isn't even in Ottawa!

During the Cold War (aka "YOU'RE a communist. YOU'RE a communist. you're ALL communists!") Prime Minister Diefenbaker signed for this nuclear bunker to be built to prepare for a Soviet attack. Luckily, we never had to put it to use and it has been converted into a Cold War Museum. Since it was built in the 70's, the "artifacts" aren't exactly ancient, but have a charming pastel aesthetic even though it's a bomb shelter.

Cutest bomb shelter I've ever seen.

The Wedding Induced Pinterest Boner

At the beginning of August I got to explore the concept of an ourdoor wedding and the hardcore aesthetic that it brought along. Hence the term "Pinterest boner" where I feel an emotional and spiritual arousal to the sheer beauty of a wedding.

Elm Street

Tag along as we explore this soon to be demolished neighbourhood of Elm Street in central Mississauga. I put together a few clips in a video down there too. Check it out!

I want my GPA to look as nice as my notebooks

Recently, Nico and I did an intense clean through of my basement which somehow unearthed an ungodly pile of notebooks. With our recent trip downtown, I also bought my first roll of washi tape in a weird attempt to beautify my school life this year. We'll see how it goes down.

Localista, Food Truck

At an Earth Date event, I got the chance to try Localista, which is a Toronto based food truck that serves a variety of sandwiches and snacks.

Amsterdam Brewery by the Lake

Join me for the journey of a lot of food and only a very mild amount of alcohol.

Eating Raw on Lakeshore Raw Aura, Mississauga ]

Today I recount my first experience at a raw and vegan restaurant. Considering its popularity and quality, I was surprised I did not have to travel far to access it. Something as notably niche and "trendy" as this would easily be envisioned to exist within a little market area littered with art galleries and fair trade coffee shops and not a block away from Pizza Pizza and right along the busiest lake-front street in modest Mississauga.

GRAZIE!

The mission of completing old post drafts continue. We took this trip as our end-of-exam celebration two years ago and I still remember every bit of delicious food I scraped from that plate.

I FUCKING LOVE FISH TACOS (Seven Lives Tacos y Mariscos, Toronto)

GET EXCITED BECAUSE IT'S PAST MIDNIGHT AND I'M HERE TO WRITE ABOUT FISH TACOS

Current Projects

Lots of fun things in production.

In terms of YouTube, I wanted to share from stills from my current project and my first beauty video! I am not by any means any good at doing makeup properly, but as long as I can put my face on in time before heading out the door, I'm content.

hey

Every summer I make a quiet return to blogger somehow. Always with the intention to keep it up, but never fully succeeding. In addition to blogger this year, I emerged on YouTube recently under the username JTRAN. In short, it's a place to compile excerpts of my life in video form.

Maybe I'll drop off another food post I have in my drafts! I have definitely eaten a lot of goodness. I went to Texas last Christmas for crying out loud.
